kitchen garden cottage

Sleeps 4
2 Bedrooms
From £435 per night

Overview

A cabin-style cottage cocooned with budding gardens and crab apple trees, pretty enough to have been plucked straight out of a fairy tale. Perfect for couples or families of four, there’s an impressive master suite and a second kids ‘treetop’ bunk room. The cottage sits within the grounds of a historic family house, overlooking the kitchen garden with a private entrance and pathway.

Nestled in the quaint Cotswolds village of Little Tew surrounded by lush, leafy countryside, you are only a stones throw from the members-only Soho Farmhouse (just a 5 minute drive) and many other Cotswolds hotspots, pubs and restaurants.

Ground Floor

Follow the Hansel-and-Gretel-like pathway to your Cotswolds hideaway, where you’ll be enticed in by bold striped floors and wooden panelled walls (sadly not made of gingerbread) that extend up into the impressive vaulted ceiling. The space has been expertly designed with industrial style windows, raw materials and earthy textures, all whipped together with an elegant palette of coffee and creams together with deep forest greens.

The stylish living space centres around a log burner, surrounded by a selection of sumptuous furnishings for you to sink yourself into. There’s a round dining table and a wooden-topped work space overlooking the gardens, along with a chic chalet-style kitchen where fresh apple juice will be waiting for you (made by the owners themselves with apples plucked straight from the garden).

The Cotswolds cosiness continues in the master suite, separated from the spacious living space by a handy sliding door. Here you’ll find a luxurious emperor-size bed dressed in fresh The White Company linens. And if you’re travelling with kids in tow, there’s a snug connecting bunk bed room. The stylish family bathroom is a real treat, with more bold stripes, a roomy rainfall shower and a giant freestanding tub for soaking.

Outside

The whimsical gardens are brimming with apple trees, wildlife and lovingly nurtured blooms. Enjoy them from the idyllic outdoor dining set up, where if you’re lucky you might spy the resident rabbits. You’ll also find a BBQ for those long summer days or clear starry nights.

Children

Little ones and children of all ages are welcome at The Kitchen Garden Cottage, with a specially designed bunk bed room just for kids. Depending on their ages, a third child may be able to be accommodated but this is on request only and should be enquired about with a member of team in advance.

Dogs

Please note that this property does not allow dogs.

About Little Tew

A pretty pastoral village on the edge of the Cotswolds, Little Tew sits in between Chipping Norton and Banbury, surrounded by unspoilt Oxfordshire hills smattered with pockets of honey-hued hamlets.

The location is perfect for those seeking a countryside retreat but who still want access to bustling pubs, shops and restaurants. There’s a popular local pub within walking distance in the neighbouring big sister village, Great Tew, and many Cotswolds hotspots at your fingertips; Soho Farmhouse, Diddly Squat Farmshop and Daylesford Organic to name a few.

How To Get There

Only an hour and a half by car or an hour by direct train from London, this is a popular destination for those seeking an escape from the city. The nearest train station is Charlbury, just a short 15 minute drive away.

We recommend a car for your trip so you can make the most of exploring the cottage’s bucolic setting – unless you’re happy hunkering down in your hideaway (we’re not here to judge). It’s worth noting that taxis are few and far between and should be booked in advance.

Parking

There’s a private parking space for you outside the front of the main house, just a short stroll from the cottage.
