Kitchen, Living & Dining Areas

Open-plan living is the name of the game at Apple Barn, with a beautifully appointed kitchen, dining room and living room blending together seamlessly. Gorgeous interiors are sure to inspire, with a tasteful, muted palette exuding elegance throughout. Enjoy little luxuries thanks to the Grind coffee machine and premium cookware, and cosy down for movie night in your favourite spot with the discreet, movable LG Slide TV.

The Bedrooms & Bathrooms

Each of the three bedrooms has its own beautifully tiled or panelled bathroom, bringing a sense of hotel luxury to your stay. There are two King-size rooms, plus a Super-King room that can be turned into twins, with space for up to six guests in total. As you look out the window to enjoy the surroundings, spot the estate’s pygmy goats, Daisy, Bluey and Rocco, and Valais Blacknose sheep, Bou, Cleo and Mars, pottering around.

Outside

Enjoy all the benefits of being part of a lovingly restored, idyllic 10-acre estate, with a weather-proof, heated swimming pool and communal fire pit available for guests to use, as well as a pizza oven in Apple Barn’s private terrace. With ducks, deer and chickens roaming around the grounds freely, you’ll truly feel that you’ve stepped into the pages of a storybook, reconnecting with nature and fully switching off from normal life.

The Surroundings

Apple Barn is located in the grounds of a family estate in Westhall village, 10 minutes’ drive to the pretty market town of Halesworth, where you can grab brunch and coffee at the Black Dog Deli and browse the independent bookshops, charity shops and boutiques. Get to the coast in just 15 minutes with nearby Dunwich Beach, a quiet, dog-friendly pebble beach that’s perfect for a sea dip and fish and chips. The surrounding heathland and woodland trails are great for walking, wildlife spotting, and fresh air.

How To Get There

We recommend travelling by car to this rural retreat so you can get the most out of your stay. The drive from West London takes approximately two hours and forty-five minutes.

Parking 

There is private parking at the property with space for three cars in the driveway.

Where to Eat & Drink

The Racehorse is the village local, a welcoming community pub with a great selection of craft beers and pub classics. Get there on foot via the quiet country lanes, or hop in the car and be there in just two minutes.

The Anchor in Walberswick offers brilliant food and a child-friendly beer garden, with an annual Oyster Festival each August promising a particular highlight.

The Queen’s Head in Blyford is a picture-perfect little village pub overlooking an old church. Sit in the beer garden or relax by the fire, depending on the season.

The King’s Head in Brooke is known and loved for its roasts, and works with only fresh, seasonal, and local ingredients.

The Wildebeest in Stoke Holy Cross offers an astonishing variety of food and a great-value Plat du Jour.

Pinch is an area-favourite that’s beloved for its farm-to-table pastries; a cafe on a country farm known for its regenerative farming.
