Overview

Gilda’s House sits at the southern edge of an historic Somerset estate, overlooking the spring-fed swimming pond. Rich in colour and detail, this spacious home features delightfully wonky beams, two inviting living rooms, and a dining space warmed by wood burners – ideal for larger gatherings or multi-family escapes.

The estate is family-owned and run, with Lara and her family tending to their flourishing kitchen garden and a lively menagerie of animals. Every detail has been thoughtfully curated to make your stay unforgettable. Picture yourself dining under the trees with a woodland feast prepared by MasterChef: The Professionals’ Chiara Tomasoni, indulging in an in-room massage from a therapist formerly of The Pig, taking a wild swim in the pond, or joining a creative workshop with the talented Painted Palms. Please enquire at the time of your booking.

For large groups looking to book Gilda’s House together with its sister property, Groom’s Cottage, you can contact our sales team here.

Kitchen, Living & Dining Areas

Each of the rooms in Gilda’s House is wonderfully spacious, including the communal areas. There are two large living rooms with a wood burner apiece, a dining room with space for all the gang, and a traditional kitchen that’s dripping with charm.

The Bedrooms & Bathrooms

All of the bedrooms have their own distinct character, with playful touches like grand four-poster beds, intricate tapestries, and dramatic drapes. Two Super-King and two King-size bedrooms split across the ground and first floor sleep eight guests comfortably, while a secret alcove with a mattress upstairs is sure to be a hit with additional younger guests. There are two shower rooms on the ground floor and a bathroom with a shower head on the first floor.
