Overview
A newly restored five-bedroom retreat hidden away in Scotland’s West Highlands, just a short walk from the wild shores of Oban. Surrounded by four acres of private woodland – home to tawny owls, pine martens, deer, and red squirrels – and with parts of the house dating back to the 1600s, Home Farm is steeped in history and character. The perfect base for a family gathering or group of friends seeking a special off-grid escape, with plenty to explore nearby.
Ground Floor
Recently restored by its owners, Home Farm features some wonderful design work, including artwork from local artists and beautifully restored open fireplaces. Downstairs features a large farmhouse kitchen, dining and living room with an open fire, separate snug with a record player and second open fire, alongside one super-king/twin bedroom and downstairs shower room.
First Floor
Upstairs there are four light-filled bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, including three king bedrooms and one double. All the bedrooms have stunning views of the secluded grounds and woodland.
Outside
Outside, you’ll find a covered terrace with a dining area and BBQ, a pretty lawned area outside of the main sitting room, along with four acres of private grounds and magical woodland to explore. The owners live discreetly on site with their own separate entrance and are on hand to help if needed.
Children
A travel cot and highchair can be provided for babies or toddlers in tow.
Dogs
Home Farm welcomes up to two well-behaved dogs. Please note, dogs are not allowed upstairs, in any of the bedrooms, or on any of the furniture, and should be kept on a lead in the garden and grounds. There is a hose and towels in the Byre (laundry room) at the back of the house for cleaning and drying dogs.

The Surroundings
The sort of setting where you could easily believe you were miles from anywhere, yet Home Farm is only a 5-minute drive (or a 20-minute walk) from the charming west coast seaside town of Oban. Home to many celebrated seafood restaurants and one of Scotland’s oldest distilleries, Oban Whiskey. From here, ferries depart daily for the Hebridean islands of Mull, Iona, and beyond, making Home Farm an ideal base for both quiet retreat and coastal adventure.
