Overview
Once a stable block to the house next door, The Riverside Stables is now a stylish hideaway for four with interiors by Design Box London. All on one level, each carefully crafted corner is as beautiful as the next, finished with warm earthy hues, classic country-chic furnishings and farmhouse-style features. This escape is ideal for couples who like their space, families of four, or a small group of friends.
Kitchen, Living & Dining Areas
Enter through the stable door into the fully equipped farmhouse-style kitchen. From here, you’ll find a super snug sitting and dining space separated behind a glass crittall-style door. The warm, earthy Farrow & Ball palette creates an instantly harmonious space that is just as inviting as it is stylish – expect raw materials throughout including wooden panelled walls, jute rugs and exposed brick. We love the feature log burner that sits underneath a large framed print of sleepy grazing sheep that doubles up as a TV.
The Bedrooms
Down the hallway you’ll find two double bedrooms with dreamy butterscotch hues and farmhouse-chic details. In the smaller of the two you’ll find charming chequered blinds with a scalloped edge and matching ruffled pillows. In the master bedroom you’ll find a four poster bed with creamy bouclé cushions, a luxurious roll top tub and exposed brick walls. There is one bathroom with a rainfall shower.
Outside
The Riverside Stables has a small fenced garden with a table and chairs for soaking up golden summer afternoons.
Dogs
One small dog is welcome for an additional fee of £40. Kindly note that dogs are not allowed in any of the bedrooms or on any of the furniture, and should not be left unattended at the property. Please also ensure your dog is kept on a lead whenever outside of the property and its private terrace.
Welcome Hamper
A locally sourced welcome hamper will be waiting for you on arrival including fresh sourdough, eggs, butter, milk and a small bottle of fizz.

About Lechlade-on-Thames, The Cotswolds
The riverside town of Lechlade sits along the River Thames in an Area of Natural Beauty on the edge of the Cotswolds. Its name comes from the River Leach that joins the Thames just east of the small bustling town. Here you can expect lots of great restaurants, antique shops and riverside walks, as well as easy access to lots of quintessential Cotswolds spots.
How To Get There
The closest train station is Swindon, with regular trains running from London taking under an hour. Although, we recommend travelling by car to this rural retreat so you can get the most out of your stay.
Parking
There is private parking for two cars, and an EV charger if required.
