Overview

How about a beautifully renovated thatched farmhouse in the heart of the Somerset countryside for your next rural escape? On the edge of open parkland, yet close enough to wonderful local pubs and the delightful market town of Ilminster, you can feel both worlds away and in the midst of charming country life.

Bring a group and fill up all the nine bedrooms – The Stone House is perfectly suited to large group getaways with a huge dining room, generously proportioned kitchen, and a wood-fired hot tub overlooking the rolling surrounds.

Kitchen, Living & Dining Areas

As soon as you walk through the door, you’re met with a thoughtful blending of modern and traditional. The Stone House retains lots of its original features, with grand stone fireplaces, exposed wooden beams, and blue lias stone floors.

The kitchen sits at the heart of the home, and is a spacious place for group gatherings. There’s a large island, double ovens, and a huge American-style fridge-freezer. Once you’ve cooked up a feast, reconvene in the impressive dining room, with space for 18 around the large mahogany table. Come summer, there’s al-fresco dining space in the beautiful gardens.

The warm, cosy living room has a log burner – a welcome treat in the colder months when long, muddy walks are the order of the day.

The Bedrooms & Bathrooms

The Stone House has nine bedrooms with space for 18 guests, and each one has its own beautifully appointed en-suite. The majority of the bedrooms can be converted from super Kings to twins – giving you handy flexibility on group trips. Each one has been thoughtfully designed to have its own distinct character, with lively wallpaper and sumptuous furnishings supplied in abundance.

Outside

Outdoor living is firmly on the agenda at The Stone House, with a wood-fired hot tub and an al-fresco dining set-up for 18 people.

Welcome Hamper

A welcome hamper filled with milk, biscuits, and homemade cake will be waiting for you on arrival.
