A converted barn like no other, The Cider Press sits tucked away amid 100 acres of sleepy Somerset countryside. This peaceful oasis, comfortably accommodates up to 20 guests in ten stylish bedrooms, making it perfect for family gatherings and group celebrations.

Formerly a cider press as the name suggests, this escape has been transformed by its owners into a one-of-a-kind retreat featuring an indoor pool, a tennis court and plenty of alfresco dining. Inspired by a laid-back design with comfort at the forefront, this is somewhere to slow down, soak up the outdoors and spend quality time with friends and family.

Kitchen, Living & Dining Areas

Entertaining spaces don’t come much better than these. The fully-equipped kitchen and spacious dining area has floor to ceiling windows, bi-fold doors and a long dining table overlooking the dreamlike garden and grounds beyond. Expect colourful reclaimed and upcycled furnishings, striking restored features and uninterrupted countryside vistas. 

The magazine-worthy cinema and games room with its impressive vaulted ceiling is complete with a snooker table, a giant projector wall for film nights, and an open fire.

The Bedrooms

On the ground floor you’ll find four bedrooms with two large, modern shared bathrooms. Upstairs, there are five bedrooms, three with en-suites and two with a shared bathroom. One bedroom is set apart, tucked away atop a secret staircase. 

All the bedrooms have super-king sized beds (that can be made into twins on request), luxury linens and playful prints, ensuring your slumber to be just as magical as the rest of your stay at The Cider Press.

Garden, Pool & Tennis Court

Sitting within 100 acres of private land, the outside areas at The Cider Press are a love letter to summer days and alfresco soirees. Whether it’s enjoying long leisurely BBQ lunches in the pretty courtyard dotted with roses and olive trees, starlit suppers accompanied by cosy blankets, twinkling fairy lights and a fire pit, or battling out a game of tennis on the astro court – this is the ultimate escape for switching off and spending time with family and friends.

And the star of the show is the heated indoor pool where you can soak up the rolling patchwork of West Country hills whilst you dip.

Dogs

All the family including furry friends are welcome at The Cider Press. Up to three dogs are welcome at an additional charge of £60 per dog. Kindly note that dogs are not allowed in any of the bedrooms or on any of the furniture, and should not be left unattended at the property.

Welcome Hamper

A locally sourced welcome hamper will be waiting for you on arrival including a fresh loaf, milk, eggs, local honey and a couple of bottles of fizz.

The Cider Press is bookable for a stay from either a Monday for 4 or 7 nights, or a Friday for 2 , 3 or 7 nights.

About Stawley, Somerset

Tucked between Exmoor National Park and the Quantock Hills in the heart of the West Country, the pretty pastoral village of Stawley is perfect for ramblers in search of easy access to sleepy Somerset countryside. Walkers and wildlife lovers will be happy here. Be sure to sample the local cheese named after the village, and the cider from one of the many apple orchards in the area.

How To Get There

Road tripping from London? This escape is approximately a three hour drive away. For those coming from Bristol or Bath, expect a journey time of one hour 45 minutes.

The nearest train stations are Taunton, a 30-minute drive away or Tiverton Parkway, a 25-minute drive away.

Parking 

Private parking is available at The Cider Press for up to ten cars.
