A characterful hideaway in the picturesque village of Chipping Campden, The Den is perfectly tailored for couples looking to combine cosy surroundings with all the charms of Cotswolds living. The former shed of the neighbouring property, it’s been creatively transformed into a peaceful countryside escape.

Step through the Crittal doors into the open-plan kitchen and living area, beautifully decorated with rustic furnishings and stocked with a vintage-style Everhot cooker and working wood burner to keep things cosy in the winter months. Clever, space-maximising design features include a fold-down table and rotating wall-set TV screen, which can be watched from the sofa or the comfort of the bed. 

Bedroom and Bathroom

A curtain separates you from the compact double bedroom, with a sliding door leading you to the shower room beyond.

Outside

A private patio bordered with plants is a lovely al-fresco setting, featuring a quince tree adorned with glittering solar-powered lights.

About Chipping Campden

The Den is a snug hideaway nestled in picture-perfect Chipping Campden, a quintessential Cotswold village boasting rolling hills, cosy pubs and a whole host of delicious eateries.

How To Get There

The closest train station is Moreton-on-Marsh (15 minutes by car), with direct trains from London taking just an hour and a half.

There is plenty to explore on foot but we recommend having a car to get the most out of the local area and surroundings.

Parking

Free public parking is available on the street.

Check-in & Check-out 

Check-in is from 4pm and check-out is by 10am.

Where to Eat and Drink

  • Michael’s Mediterranean serves up delicious Greek food on the High Street
  • Bantam Tea Rooms are a lovely setting for hot drinks and sweet treats
  • Fillet and Bone is a wonderful local farm shop with great takeaway coffee
  • Make use of Huxley’s outside patio in the warmer months over a long lunch
  • Hop in the car to enjoy a drink or meal at the owners’ favourite pub, The Chequers, in Churchill (about a 20-minute drive away)

Things to Do

  • Walk the Cotswold Way and see the amazing views from the top of Dover’s Hill
  • Visit the area’s beautiful chocolate-box villages – the owners’ personal favourites include Snowshill (check out the lavender fields in summer), Upper and Lower Slaughter, and Stanton
  • Take a tour of the Cotswolds Distillery and sample English whisky and gin
  • Explore local National Trust properties such as Hidcote and Snowshill Manor and Garden
