kitchen garden cottage

Sleeps 4
2 Bedrooms
From £435 per night

Overview

A cabin-style cottage cocooned with budding gardens and crab apple trees, pretty enough to have been plucked straight out of a fairy tale. Perfect for couples or families of four, there’s an impressive master suite and a second kids ‘treetop’ bunk room. The cottage sits within the grounds of a historic family house in The Cotswolds village of Little New, overlooking the kitchen garden with its own private entrance.

Living, Kitchen & Dining Areas

Follow the Hansel-and-Gretel-like pathway to your Cotswolds hideaway, where bold striped floors and wooden panelled walls lead the eye up to an impressive vaulted ceiling. Industrial-style windows, raw materials and earthy textures are layered with an elegant palette of coffee, cream and deep forest green.

The stylish living space centres around a log burner, surrounded by sumptuous furnishings made for sinking into. There’s a round dining table and wooden-topped workspace overlooking the garden, alongside a chic, chalet-style kitchen where fresh apple juice awaits – made by the owners themselves with apples picked straight from the garden.

The Bedrooms & Bathroom

The Cotswolds cosiness continues in the main bedroom, separated from the spacious living area by a handy sliding door. An emperor-size bed dressed in fresh The White Company linens makes it an inviting place to retreat, while families have the option of a snug connecting bunk room for children.

The stylish family bathroom is a real treat, with bold stripes, a generous rainfall shower and a giant freestanding tub made for a long soak.

Outside

The whimsical gardens are brimming with apple trees, wildlife and lovingly nurtured blooms. Enjoy them from the idyllic outdoor dining set up, where if you’re lucky you might spy the resident rabbits. You’ll also find a BBQ for those long summer days or clear starry nights.

Children

Little ones and children of all ages are welcome at The Kitchen Garden Cottage, with a specially designed bunk bed room just for kids. Depending on their ages, a third child may be able to be accommodated but this is on request only and should be enquired about with a member of team in advance.

Dogs

Please note that this property does not allow dogs.

The Surroundings

A pretty pastoral village on the edge of the Cotswolds, Little Tew sits between Chipping Norton and Banbury, surrounded by unspoilt Oxfordshire countryside and honey-hued hamlets.

It’s an ideal spot for a countryside escape, with pubs, shops and restaurants close by. The popular pub in neighbouring Great Tew is within walking distance, while Cotswolds favourites including Soho Farmhouse, Diddly Squat Farmshop and Daylesford Organic are all within easy reach.

How To Get There

Only an hour and a half by car or an hour by direct train from London, this is a popular destination for those seeking an escape from the city. The nearest train station is Charlbury, just a short 15 minute drive away.

We recommend a car for your trip so you can make the most of exploring the cottage’s bucolic setting – unless you’re happy hunkering down in your hideaway (we’re not here to judge). It’s worth noting that taxis are few and far between and should be booked in advance.

Parking

There’s a private parking space for you outside the front of the main house, just a short stroll from the cottage.
