Overview
Quintessential Cotswolds cottage foundations underpin this newly renovated four bedroom escape with stylish contemporary interiors. Sealed behind a traditional facade of syrup-hued stone walls and an egg-shell blue front door, sits a luxury sanctuary that nods to the Nordics like a Narnian secret.
Ground Floor
There are two light and bright a la mode living spaces. One has an open brick fireplace, sheepskin throws and original overhead beams – ideal for curling up with one of the many beautiful interiors books spread across the coffee table. The other overlooks the garden and benefits from a glossy oatmeal log burner, an overhead skylight and pops of fresh sea-green interiors.
The marble-topped kitchen and breakfast room is coated in a creamy latte-hue and floods with natural light in the mornings. There’s a separate dining room with whitewashed wooden floors and a timber table crowned with a vaulted sky-light. Everything at Rose Cottage has been newly refurbished and expertly designed, down to every last detail – we love the indoor lanterns dotted throughout the cottage.
There’s also a separate outdoor games room at the bottom of the garden with its own chill-out space and ping pong table – great for those travelling with kids in tow.
First Floor
Upstairs, you’ll find three double bedrooms on the first floor and a fourth twin room nestled within the eaves on the second floor. All of the bedrooms are in keeping with the rest of the property with their pared back palettes, original beams and modern art work. There are two bathrooms; one with a shower and one with a marble-topped bath and overhead shower. Both are kitted out with Bamford products for your use.
Garden
Follow the crittall-style doors outside to the large rose and lavender lined lawn at the front of the house, decked out with a small fire pit and sun loungers for you to admire the fantastical folklore inspired cottage garden in all its glory. Follow the south-facing garden around and you’ll find a peaceful outdoor dining set up, and a giant sunken trampoline.

About Churchill, The Cotswolds
The village of Churchill encapsulates all the endearing beauty of the Cotswolds thanks to its village green, welcoming pub and historic church (that gives the village its name). Rose Cottage sits in a great location for exploring the Cotswolds with lots of classic Cotswolds hang outs nearby, such as Daylesford Farm and the members only Soho Farmhouse, plus plenty of honeypot villages to explore, including Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water.
How to get there
We believe the Cotswolds is best explored by car but the nearest train station is only a 5 minute drive away in Kingham, with regular trains running from London.
Parking
There is private parking on property for two cars.
Check-in & Check-out
Kindly note that check-in is from 4pm and check-out is by 10am.
Food & Drink
– The Chequers is a charming village pub within walking distance, great for elevated classics and Sunday roasts.
– The Fox at Oddington sits at the heart of its community and celebrates local produce; serving anything from pizzas to Hereford sirloin on the bone.
– The Cellar in nearby Stow-on-the-Wold is small plates restaurant and wine bar offering an array of delicious organic, biodynamic and natural wines.
– Also in Stow, you have The Old Butchers – a popular family-run restaurant with a nose to tail ethos.
– Both The Wild Rabbit and The Kingham Plough in Kingham are both popular country pubs.
Things To Do
– Get your hiking boots on and enjoy a rural ramble, or explore one of the many honey-hued Cotswolds towns and villages. From the pretty, fairytale town of Bourton-on-the-Water, crowned the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’, to the hustle and bustle of Stow-on-the-Wold, filled with modern bakeries, boutiques, antique shops and art galleries.
– While away an afternoon at Sand & Stone favourite, Daylesford Farm, or at the members-only, Soho Farmhouse.
– The Cotswolds Farm Park always makes for a fun day out with little ones.
– Visit the Jacobean house and gardens at National Trust property, Chastleton, and explore the kitchen garden, wilderness walk and croquet lawns (fun fact: where the rules of the game were originally codified).
