Overview
Our most unique bolthole yet, The Tree House is a real-life tree house hidden in the treetops within the grounds of a 17th-century country house. Handcrafted by artisan carpenters in oak and cedar wood, this exceptional hideaway is spread across two floors and overlooks a secluded valley in an Area of Outstanding Beauty. With its outdoor shower, exceptional views and abundant birdsong, The Tree House takes wild luxury to a new level.
Level 1
A flight of wooden steps leads up to a covered porch on the spacious wrap around deck. Enter the cosy cabin through the hand-carved oak front door and discover the remarkable craftsmanship and stylish interiors.
In the open-plan sitting room, light up the log burner before settling down on the luxurious sofa to enjoy a captivating view of the enchanting valley below or catch up on films and box sets on the cool Samsung ‘The Frame’ 55″ TV that doubles as artwork when not in use. Tri-fold doors allow the space to be open or closed and are fitted with blackout blinds.
Throw open the doors to revel in the natural soundtrack provided by the resident song birds and owls – or hunker down to enjoy your favourite tunes via the Bluetooth speaker system. The stainless-steel and granite kitchen zone alongside the separate dining area is equipped with everything you need for an indulgent escape. And most importantly, there’ll be a bottle of champagne chilling in the fridge waiting for you.
Downstairs features a spectacular bathroom with a freestanding bath positioned just in front of bi-fold doors, allowing you to bathe in the heart of nature, with the added benefit of remote-control blinds for privacy. There is a separate walk-in shower and double vanity unit, and fragrant Bamford products for your use.
Level 2
In the vaulted upper level of The Tree House, you’ll discover a very special bedroom. Located on a mezzanine floor accessed by a hand–carved spiral staircase that wraps around a tree trunk, the room has a king-size bed positioned to enjoy views of the surrounding treetops through the triangular window. With Lutron mood lighting throughout and luxurious French linen bedding, you’ll certainly enjoy a comfortable sleep at The Tree House.
Outside
An expansive oak deck wraps around The Tree House, opening up the space to the surrounding countryside. There is an inviting chaise longue sofa, gas BBQ and atmospheric lighting to bring a mellow glow to dark evenings. If you’re feeling brave, the al fresco shower on the deck provides the opportunity to cool off or warm up after a bracing walk or exploring the grounds of the private estate. There are also yoga mats for your use.
The Tree House guests have access to the wider grounds of the private estate, including the sundowner deck and fire pit overlooking the pond. Circular walks on footpaths that lead into the valley and surrounding countryside can be started directly from the grounds.
