Overview
A freshly renovated loft-style hideaway in the heart of the Dillington Estate, Willow Loft sleeps up to eight people in four elegant en-suite bedrooms. With alfresco areas that sing, including a fire pit and a wood-fired hot tub, and sleepy Somerset surroundings, this is a countryside retreat designed for celebratory get-togethers with family and friends.
First Floor
The loft-style kitchen and dining space has impressive vaulted ceilings, floor-to-ceilings windows and bi-fold doors that open up onto the alfresco patio garden. Flooded with natural light and designed for entertaining, this spacious set up is perfect for celebratory gatherings.
Next door you’ll find a the cosy beamed sitting room with chalky blue sofas, an open brick fireplace and egg-shell blue walls. And stylish, newly fitted floor boards run throughout.
Ground Floor
Downstairs, you’ll find the four en-suite bedrooms – all beautifully designed with an inviting yet luxurious country cottage style. And conveniently, all of the rooms can be set up as either twins or super-king doubles (just let us know upon booking).
Two of the en-suites have high-spec walk-in showers, one has a bath with a shower above it and the other a freestanding roll-top tub. With fragrant local bath products and fluffy dressing gowns ready and waiting, you’re all set for a peaceful night’s sleep at Willow Loft.
Outside
It’s the alfresco areas at this property that really sing. The wood-fired hot-tub sits above the garden with views across the orchard to the woods beyond, and Estate parkland surrounds the house, granting guests easy access to plenty of bosky Somerset footpaths.
There’s a patio terrace with an outdoor dining set up with a parasol, perfect for balmy days, plus a charcoal BBQ, so you can roll into the night. You’ll also find an outdoor sofa for soaking up those pretty pastoral views with a sunny afternoon tipple.
Dogs
Willow Loft is happy to accept two dogs for a fee of £50 per dog. Kindly note that dogs should not be left unattended, go on any of the furniture, or in any of the bedrooms.

A welcome hamper filled with local goodies will be waiting for you on arrival including milk, biscuits and a homemade cake.

About Ilminster, Somerset
Willow Loft is located in the heart of the Dillington Estate in Ilminster, surrounded by abundant private parkland. There are some cracking local pubs and restaurant nearby, plus plenty of sleepy Somerset countryside to explore.
How To Get There
Due to its rural location, we recommend travelling by car. However should you need it, Crewkerne train station is only a short 15 minute drive away, and Taunton and Castle Cary are a 30 minute drive away. All stations offer direct trains from London.
Parking
There is private parking at the house for up to 3 cars.
Check-In & Check-Out
Please note check-in is from 4pm and check-out is by 10am.
Food & Drink
– The Barrington Boar pub is walkable in about an hour or you can drive in a few minutes, and is great for a pint or two.
– The Dinnington Docks or The Lord Poulett Arms are both noteworthy pubs a short drive or cycle away.
– Holm, in next door village South Petherton, is a contemporary restaurant with a seasonally changing menu that is well worth booking ahead for.
– The nearby town of Bruton is brimming with foodie hotspots including the world renowned Osip and Roth Bar & Grill, next door to fabulous Hauser and Wirth art gallery.
– The Newt is well worth the journey, with two restaurants, a cafe, cider bar, farm shop, extensive gardens, a deer park and a museum, you could easily while away a day here (please note there’s an entrance fee for non-members).
Things To Do
– Dillington House is a 16th century property just a short walk away, and has regular lectures, concerts and events. It is worth checking their schedule for upcoming events.
– Barrington Court is a Tudor Manor House and a National Trust property a 12-minute drive away.
– Dennis Chinaworks is a nice option to visit and has a fantastic tearoom, serving homemade light meals.
– The jaw-dropping Jurassic coast is a 40-minute drive, Lyme Regis being a perfect day trip.
– Local Somerset Cider producers that welcome visitors are Perry’s Cider and Julian Temperly’s Cider.
