A WEEKEND IN… THE TREE HOUSE

Our Head of Social Media & PR, Georgia, took a trip to Tetbury to stay in our real-life tree house.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THE TREE HOUSE FOR YOUR SAND & STONE ESCAPE?

I chose The Tree House because it just felt like it would be such a special trip – how often do you get to stay in a real-life treehouse, let alone one with interiors this beautiful, and in such an incredible part of the Cotswolds? It had everything I love: being surrounded by nature, total peace and quiet, it’s dog-friendly, there’s a pub within walking distance (a must!), and the nearby village is known for its antiques, which I absolutely loved!

WHO DID YOU GO WITH?

I went with my boyfriend and our dog, and it was perfect for that kind of trip. It felt really romantic, but in a relaxed, unforced way that wasn’t at all cheesy (which is key!).

We had the doors open all day, used the BBQ in the evenings, and just fully switched off. The grounds were amazing for the dog, and the walks quite literally start on your doorstep, which made everything feel really easy.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE TREE HOUSE?

Aside from the obvious (staying in a tree house!), I think the interiors really stood out to me. They were completely beyond what I expected and the owners have done such a beautiful job of bringing the outside inside. It all feels really calm and considered.

There’s also a pond on the grounds, and you’re given a picnic hamper to take down there. This, plus the fire pit: magical. I honestly think it would be special at any time of year and no matter the weather!

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF THE TRIP?

Honestly, it’s hard to choose… everything felt so well thought through. But the owner was lovely and really made the stay feel personal, giving us great recommendations and making sure we had everything we needed.

WHERE DID YOU EXPLORE IN THE LOCAL AREA?

Tetbury is definitely worth a visit, with two market days each week. Wednesday is more focused on seasonal produce (vegetables, meat, fish, plants), and Saturday has more of a mix of antiques, books, and crafts. It’s such a wholesome day out, with lots of lovely coffee shops to stop in along the way.

WHERE’S NEXT ON YOUR SAND & STONE LIST?

I’d love to explore Well Cottage, Milovaig House or Daisy’s Stable next — they all have quirky interiors, which is something I always look out for when finding new places to visit.
