Group Getaways In The Countryside and By The Sea
Diaries are invitingly clear, magazines are awash with top places to travel and group chats are being devised. There’s no denying that with a new year comes the desire to explore exciting locations and travel to beautiful destinations. And what better way to create meaningful memories than a group getaway with your loved ones. From a school’s out adventure by the sea to a reconnecting getaway in the country, we have rounded up our collection of perfect Sand & Stone properties, no matter the occasion.
Bibury, once described by poet William Morris as ‘the most beautiful village in England’, is a village in the Oxfordshire countryside which is as pretty as it is traditional. The Farm, a collection of five expertly designed barn conversions located a short 15 minute walk from Bibury village, offer luxurious countryside stays for groups ranging from 6 to 38. Each barn can be booked individually for more intimate, smaller group gatherings or, alternatively, when a special occasion is on the horizon, The Farm can be rented as a whole ensuring you and your party are never too far away from the fun.
Bull Pen, Grain Store, Cart Shed, Old Hay Barn and The Stables sit within a working farm in the Oxfordshire countryside. Once left to ruin, each barn has been meticulously designed to bring back to life the incredible buildings. Traditional beams have been retained and original fixtures have been reworked to hold on to the wonderful charm whilst also creating comfort and modern spaces.
Coxswain’s Cottage in St Ives and Little Cottage in Praa Sands are both Cornish getaways for groups where you’ll soon be accustomed to sand between your toes in seconds. One a three-storey cottage nestled in the quaint backstreets of St Ives and the other, a contemporary architectural gem. Coxswain’s Cottage sleeps up to six guests and sits moments away from a private tunnel which leads to the stunning sites and sounds of Porthmeor beach. Little Cottage sleeps up to twelve guests in a modern beach-house which sits at the bottom of winding road, ensuring the most private of spaces with the most incredible views.
St Ives is a hub of local businesses, window displays brimming with original art and is full of character and life. Local residents welcome the gentle stream of tourists through summer and visitors relish in its quieter moments during off-season – but no matter what time of year you choose to visit, St Ives provides breathtaking scenery. Visit the Barbara Hepworth museum exploring her artistic journey from the north of England through to Europe, sample wonderfully fresh fish at The Seafood Café and build a fortress of sand castles on the selection of beaches which encase St Ives.
We love the Cotswolds for group getaways thanks to the vast open space and rolling hills you will find our properties situated within. The Bledington Barn, an eco-friendly barn delightfully located opposite the village green of the same name, and The Old Dairy, a labyrinth of corridors and high ceilings creating a vast countryside escape, reflect the very best of the Cotswolds. Distilleries, Wildlife Parks, royal palaces and more pub gardens than we care to imagine ensure there’s many things to be getting on with in the Cotswolds. From £259 per night, summer in the sun or hunkering down in the winter, escape the hum drum of the city for countryside calm.
